Cooperation and Coercion: How Busybodies Became Busybullies and What that Means for Economics and Politics

Antony Davies & James Harrigan

The timing of having “Cooperation and Coercion” the April Book of the Month couldn't be better. Authors Davies and Harrigan come from academia and are the hosts of a weekly podcast "Words & Numbers ” which I highly recommend. In “Cooperation & Coercion” the authors tackle issues such as taxes, minimum wages, gun control and a whole other host of issues and how cooperation is much more effective than coercion. The book and the podcast will definitely increase the readers knowledge and understanding in the social science fields.

Your God Given Talent

Nicole Serra-Gonzalez

MREIA member, teacher, real estate investor, Realtor, actress and mother is the author of our Book of the Month. MREIA Member Ms. Nicole Serra-Gonzalez is also an author. Nicole’s book; ”Your God Given Talent” is a quick but thought provoking read focusing on using our God-given talents to their fullest. From the Biblical parable of the “3 Servants and talents” to discussing overcoming one’s fears and making sure to use your abilities to their fullest. Nicole’s take on talent reminded me of a theme spoken throughout one of my favorite movies of all time; “A Bronx Tale” starring Robert DeNiro and Chazz Palminteri.

The father, played by DeNiro tells his son: “The saddest thing in life is wasted talent,” the theme throughout “Your God Given Talent.” One piece of advice given by the author is ”Don’t settle for ignorance. Ignorance is not bliss”. Wise words indeed. Congratulations Nicole and hope it is a million seller! To purchase Nicole’s book ($4), visit https://bit.ly/49Z8xLp.
